Bitter Chocolate

Let’s make this short and sweet. I wrote a poem…

Bitter Chocolate

Bitter chocolate…

Why would anyone want bitter chocolate? Why would anyone ever want bitter chocolate? How could the taste ever be desirable? Something that should be so sweet, Bitter Chocolatebegins to sour the darker it gets…well so they say.

Bitter chocolate

From far exotic places where mythos and legend tumble from the mouths of those who would consume such bitter chocolate. Found in homes, sometimes of the most troubling circumstances and still grows this bitter chocolate.

Maybe there is something to this chocolate and it’s not being given the credit it deserves. We are told it should be sweet and melt when held tightly in a strong hand, but in its natural state it is bitter. When it has not been changed or molded into what others says it should be, the taste is strong, disagreeable, coveted, and unforgettable.

Bitter chocolate…

Virulent, angry, spiteful, vicious…savage  bitter chocolate. Tragic and resentful bitter chocolate…icy and embittered chocolate. But considered a healthy delicacy just the same.

Yours Truly,

Amber Mosby  “Forgive me if I don’t get excited…”
